FGSL webinar – Mini guts in CRISPR screens: Developing and scaling arrayed CRISPR screens in patient-derived organoids

Join the Functional Genomics Screening Laboratory (FGSL) for a webinar with Dr Antigoni Gogolou and Dr Thomas Dennison.

3 December 2026 | 2–3 pm | Online

Patient-derived intestinal organoids retain key genetic and epigenetic features of the donor’s intestinal epithelium, making them valuable models for studying inflammatory bowel disease and identifying potential therapeutic targets.

Antigoni and Thomas will present a scalable workflow for arrayed CRISPR screening in these models, combining gene editing with high-content imaging. They will share findings from a proof-of-concept screen of 140 genes in organoids from two donors, revealing both shared and donor-specific targets that reflect patient heterogeneity.

This collaborative project brings together the FGSL, Bello and Zilbauer laboratories, and AstraZeneca. The presentation will be followed by Q&A.
