Earlier this week, we were delighted to team up with Cambridge Network to host an event at the West Hub in Cambridge. The event provided an overview of the Institute’s unique translational ecosystem, and Cambridge Network members gathered to learn more about the ways researchers, start-ups, and industry/biotech companies can engage with the Milner Institute to advance therapeutic innovation.

The event featured presentations from Dr Alison Schuldt, MTI Head of Partnerships and Alliance, and Dr Alexandra Huener, MTI Head of Entrepreneurship. Together, they outlined the multiple pathways through which the Institute enables collaboration between academia and industry – from cross-sector alliances and research partnerships to entrepreneurial programmes that support new ventures in life sciences. Attendees learned about the Institute’s Therapeutics Consortium and Affiliated Network, a new partnership with Flagship Pioneering and Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP), and the Milner Bio-incubator, which now houses 10 start-up companies.

The session concluded with a busy networking reception, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with members of the MTI team and other stakeholders from the Cambridge life sciences ecosystem. It was fantastic to receive so much interest in Milner initiatives, and we hope this event provided a roadmap for engagement and collaboration. Thank you to Cambridge Network for co-hosting another event with us!
