This week, Milner Institute Director Professor Sir Tony Kouzarides was pleased to attend a special event in celebration of Astex’s 25-year anniversary. The event showcased achievements the company has made since its formation, including three cancer drugs on the market through its pharma partnerships. Lord Patrick Vallance – Minister of State for Science, Research and Innovation – joined the event at Cambridge Science Park to recognise and highlight history and achievements and discuss broader challenges and opportunities in UK life sciences.
It was an honour to join this event and celebrate the achievements of our pharma partner, Astex. Discussions highlighted the impact of the Cambridge entrepreneurial ecosystem and the commitment of the Government to accelerate progress through investment in the Cambridge/Oxford corridor.
